AppleBerry on the way?
Apple and Blackberry may collaborate.
Speculation is doing the rounds that the days when you get e-mail on your ipod and music on your Blackberry are not far. Even the idea of an "AppleBerry" seems quite interesting.
The speculation came from Peter Misek, an analyst with Canaccord Capital Inc., and he is the same guy who had predicted last year the partnership between RIM and Intel Corp. Research in Motion (RIM) are the makers of Blackberry and iPod is manufactured by Apple.
The partnership would be beneficial to both the companies as each company lacks what the other has. Apple lacks its presence in the wireless market and RIM lacks its presence in the consumer market, he said.
There are two ways to make an AppleBerry. One, including RIM's wireless technology Apple could make a cellphone with its iPod music device. Two, a future BlackBerry might contain Apple's iTunes.
Limitting the amount of hardware for the software was the key to success for both Apple and RIM. The same like of interest can prove to be major when the two companies sit together for talks, well if the talks might occur.
Anyway, either Apple or RIM have declined to comment on the prospect of a possible AppleBerry.
