Sun Fire x4500, the all new hybrid server from Sun

The Sun Fire x4500 is targeted at Web 2.0 companies.

A new server built by Sun Microsystems claims to be the ideal choice for new generation Internet companies. The hybrid server is specifically aimed at the companies which are in the Web 2.0 online movement.

The Sun computer named as The Sun Fire x4500 was earlier code-named as Thumper. The Sun Fire x4500 features a capacity to store n amazing 24 terabytes of data. Hence, Sun believes that this would help the new generation Internet companies to store and share the enormous amounts of data that it may have to handle.

Sun is currently on an aggressive bid to regain its supremacy in the corporate technology market as underscored by its launch of the new Sun Fire x4500. "We're on a ramp and we see no reason why that ramp is going to decline," said Jonathan Schwartz, CEO, Sun Microsystems.

Sun Fire x4500 is the world's first hybrid server which combines high data processing and high-capacity storage, claims Sun.
