Sony Playstation 3 80GB to be launched in South Korea

22 May, 2007

If all goes well, then South Korean Playstation fans will lay hands on the latest addition in the Playstation series, the Sony Playstation 3, this June. The only bad news is that the Playstation 3 will be available only in South Korea.

The Sony Playstation 3 will have an 80GB hard-disk drive. Once the news about the launch of the new Playstation reached the press, a Sony spokesperson confirmed the news. But he also confirmed that the Sony Playstation 3 80GB will not be launched in Europe.

Sony Playstation 3 will have a price tag of EUR 232 and will be launched on June 16.

The Sony Playstation 60GB in the UK costs around EUR 425.

The leader in the game console is still Microsoft's XBox 360, and still there is no official word from Sony about the launch of Playstation 3 in Europe.

Though the price difference between the 60GB and 80GB is negligible, there is a slight improvement in the hard drive.
