Medi Center Edition.
AMD has released the LIve! Entertainment PC platform for those who are not satisfied with their normal PCs. LIve!, the entertainment center PCs from AMD promises high functionality and offers to act behind the scenes rather than taking up your precious room space.
It has been almost 6 months after the launch of Intel Viiv and AMD has now come out with a platform that promises high entertainment values. It is expected that almost 40 brands will start to offer Live PCs from June onwards. Hewlett-Packard, Gateway, Acer and Alienware are some among them.

Live PCs have specific hardware and software requirements. AMD says that the basic requirements for running a Live PC are a dual-core AM2-based Athlon 64 X2 4200+ processor, and should run Microsoft's Windows XP MCE operating system with a capability to upgrade to Windows Vista and display the operating system's Aero Glass graphical interface. It also needs 1 GB memory, a SATA hard drive and a DVD burner.
Through this move, AMD is trying to have mainstream multimedia devices and high-perfromance systems which can offer good quality video games. The FX-62 processor can also be used in Live, but they will have to be upgraded by including 2 graphic cards.
The Live systems from AMD will concentrate more on storing and drlivering consumer's content rather than providing exclusive content. The Live PC will also be a PC,
instead of replacing the consumer electronics.
