The PC Recycling program from Apple

Buy an Apple Macintosh, send back old PC for recycling with Computer Take-Back.

Apple has started a PC recycling program so that people can send back any PC, if they buy a new Macintosh. The service Computer take-Back is also free of charge. This move is seen as a move by Apple in establishing its eco-friendly status.

The plan was actually announced in April and is available for all the United States. If a person wants to take part in this program, he will get an e-mail from Apple with the instructions for free shipping and recycling. Users then have to pack the equipment and should attach the label provided by Apple. The material received for recycling will be recycled and Apple will not ship any hazardous materials.

Apple has a similar model for its iPod music player. When a customer wants to but a new model, he can give back the older one with a 10% discount.

The Computer Take-Back program from Apple includes the PCs manufactured by any manufacturer. The Computer Take-back program includes both monitors and computers. It is expected that the computer users will turn a lot of attention to this program and will in turn shift some more computer users to Macintosh.
