Google maps the entire New Zealand

Google Maps beats Zoomin, Wises

Even before its competitors anticipated it, Google has done it. Google has mapped the entire New Zealand in its popular advertising based mapping service. The map covers even the roads in the country and in whole, covers the entire country.

The others who have walked on the same path are Zoomin and Wises. Both are mapping services. The image quality of Google maps are good compared with these two.

Google Maps was first launched in North America in 2005. Users can search and find restaurants, bars and businesses. As the software is basically advertising based, businesses can put up their locations for free or they can advertise as sponsored links.

Rival Zoomin puts the move by the search engine giant as a positive move for the industry. It also hopes that Google is going to be of more risk to Wises and Zoomin.

Some firms have already started mash-ups, a technology which combines Google Maps and some other information. They vary over a whole range of applications.
