Bill Gates photo gallery

The legendary founder of Microsoft has decided to slowly extricate himself from the company, and focus on philanthropy through his Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.

Personally, I think this is a great idea.

You don't need a Bill Gates to run a Microsoft. It is a behemoth seven times over, and Ray Ozzie and Steve Ballmer can do the job perfectly well, thank you.

I personally would  like to see Gates use his extraordinary skills at beating competition into the ground and getting what he wants in the field of chairty and philanthropy. Yes, fix that poverty monster like you fixed Netscape, fix AIDS epidemic like you fixed Lotus Notes and WordPerfect. This is what the world needs. What was a man like Bill Gates doing selling new gadgets or a new version of an operating system anyway?

And so we come to this photo gallery.

Yeah, everyone knows Gates is not the most photogenic person in the world. But we want to create a gallery of his pictures nevertheless. Why? I have gone through Gates-hate, Gates-admiration, hell, the whole gamut of Gates-related feelings in my young life. A man who can create such varied emotions in a large chunk of the population of today's world - he deserves a photo gallery.

For starters, we have posted a few photos here. If you have excellent Gates images with you, do mail them to us. Let us try to create a photo gallery of Bill Gates that traces his entire career.

A few photos of the man so many have come to admire and hate follow. More to come.
