Website offering old versions of software

Oldversion.com offers downloads of old versions of software which you cannot find on the Net anymore.

I came across a really useful website recently offering you old versions of popular programs like MSN Messenger, ICQ, ACDSee, few FTP softwares etc. Looking for MSN Messenger version 6.2 or ACDSee version 2.42? No problem. Currently this site has nearly 1000 versions of 90 odd programs, quite a few.

OldVersion.com currently do not provide software for any operating systems other then Windows. However, they encourage visitors to contribute software for Macintosh computers. Once they have enough titles and versions, they can publish a Macintosh section.

OldVersion.Com deal only with freeware and shareware. They don't deal with licensed software like windows older versions as the legal distribution of software won't be a feasible idea.

Once you download the old version of the software, you just have to run the file. It works the same way as files downloaded from any other download site. If you have a newer version currently installed on your computer, make sure you close and uninstall it. To uninstall it, you need to go to Start / Settings / Control Panel / Add/Remove Programs.

So if you are looking for older versions of and shareware or freeware, you know where to look out for. Also if you have any old installation files, you can contact Oldversion.com and help them grow their repository. And yes, I would like to mention that i really found their tagline interesting, "Because newer is not always better".
