BERC, Mumbai conducts program on Advanced Techniques in Biotechnology
Students from leading colleges in Mumbai receive certificates in biotechnology.

Bio Engineering & Research Centre (BERC) Mumbai, a world-class institute envisioned to produce professional achievers in the field of biotechnology had recently conducted a summer course on "Advanced Techniques in Biotechnology". The 3-week long successful program ending June 2006 had 18 students from various well-known colleges of Mumbai.
The program consisted of lectures and practicals in various disciplines of Biotechnology ranging from basics, advanced and applied biotechnology. With the latest state-of-the-art laboratory, Audio-visual teaching and presentations, the students were given practical insights to Plant Biotechnology and Advance Plant Sciences, where they learnt modern techniques in Wine Preparation, Mushroom Cultivation and various other facets of cell and tissue culture. Certificates from BERC were awarded to all the participants on the successful completion of the workshop.
At the valedictory function, Mumbai campus head Ms Savita Sengar said, "With the conduction of such regular programs, BERC is targeting to fill the gap in the demand & supply of skilled manpower in the rapidly converging Biotechnology industry. The objective of the program is to prepare students with the relevant & practical skills, training & knowledge by introducing interactive teaching methodology rather than imparting mere theoretical knowledge. This kind of teaching & learning module will ensure guaranteed placement for all students in best of the companies."
